Laurel Stuart, a Biology graduate of the University of New Mexico spent her high school years apprenticing on the Singleton Ranches and possesses extensive real-world experience in animal husbandry, range management, and the cattle industry. Having interned with the Albuquerque Equine Veterinary Clinic and the historic 6666 Ranch in Guthrie, Texas, she currently serves on the judging team for the National Reined Cowhorse Association. Agricultural Science aligns to two complementary areas of Colorado's 2020 academic standards. First, it directly supports the CAS Life Science standard, with students investigating the characteristics and structures of living organisms, biological processes, and how living systems interact with their environment — including domesticated and wild animals, plant systems, and ecosystems (CAS SC Standard 2: LS1, LS2). Second, it aligns to Colorado's Career and Technical Education Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources (AFNR) pathway, through which students explore career opportunities in the vast agricultural industry, developing knowledge and skills in animal science, natural resources, and plant science.

Kate Otte, is a professional artist and educator with over 22 years of experience working with children and adults. A former K–6 art teacher at Dawson School in Lafayette, Kate holds a degree in art, psychology, and sociology and brings deep expertise across drawing, painting, printmaking, clay, sculpture, felting, and mixed media. Her classes align to the 2020 Colorado Academic Standards for Visual Arts, which define the visual arts as an academic and scholarly discipline connecting learning, critical thinking, and making — grounding students in the four CAS Visual Arts standards: Observe and Learn to Comprehend, Envision and Critique to Reflect, Invent and Discover to Create, and Relate and Connect to Transfer. Students practice critical and analytical skills using academic art vocabulary, and create works demonstrating increasing levels of mastery in skills and techniques across a range of media and processes.
Marine Science is delivered through curriculum developed by Ocean First Institute, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to advancing ocean conservation through research and education, offering hands-on marine science education, microplastics research, and local conservation projects across Colorado and funded in part by the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD). Ocean First Institute's programming expands student knowledge in the areas of ocean literacy, marine biology, and ocean conservation directly in seven Colorado counties, with lessons involving interactive, inquiry-based experiments designed to motivate and support students for success in STEM fields.
Designed for learners from 1st grade through high school, each session invites students to think like marine scientists — exploring ocean ecosystems, animal adaptations, and conservation challenges through engaging, real-world activities. Topics include shark biology, sea turtle conservation, ocean food webs, microplastics pollution, and citizen science data collection. All sessions align with Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and support 21st Century Skills. Colorado has adopted NGSS as the framework for its 2020 Colorado Academic Standards in Science, making Ocean First Institute's curriculum directly aligned to CAS Life Science (LS1, LS2) and Earth and Space Science (ESS3) standards.

Lacey Wheeler
Music and Piano
Lacey Wheeler holds a Bachelor of Music with an emphasis in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from Colorado State University and completed graduate-level music studies at the University of Colorado Boulder. With 33 years of piano performance experience and a lifetime of vocal study, Lacey has studied privately with some of the best piano and voice teachers and professors in Colorado and has been actively involved in the lives and development of young musicians throughout her career. She has also spent years studying child psychology and development as it relates to music education, resulting in a curriculum specifically designed to build musical literacy through developmentally appropriate, engaging group experiences.
Lacey's classes align directly to the 2020 Colorado Academic Standards for Music across all four CAS strands — Expression of Music, Creation of Music, Theory of Music, and Aesthetic Valuation of Music. Students develop foundational musicianship through performance, rhythm and pitch reading, music theory, vocal technique, and creative musical expression

Science Education
Emma Miller is a Colorado-licensed science educator holding a Bachelor of Science in Biology, a Master of Science in Genetics/Genomics, and a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction, with nearly a decade of combined lab research and classroom teaching experience. Through her innovative mobile laboratory service, Ms. Miller brings hands-on science experiments directly to our program — all materials included — delivering inquiry-based lessons in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics aligned to the 2020 Colorado Academic Standards for Science. Each class integrates the CAS three-dimensional learning model, engaging students in Science and Engineering Practices such as planning and carrying out investigations, analyzing data, and constructing explanations across the Physical Science, Life Science, and Earth Science standards.
Alexander Shalom Joseph
Poetry and Creative Writing
Alexander Shalom Joseph, an award-winning poet, fiction writer, and playwright with an MFA in Creative Writing from the Jack Kerouac School at Naropa University and an MA in English Education brings writing to life! The author of seven published books — including the 2025 American Writing Awards Fiction Novelette Prize-winning novella The Clearing — Alexander has taught creative writing across MFA and undergraduate programs at Naropa University and Columbia University, as well as at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, the Lighthouse Writers Workshop, and the Firehouse Art Center. His classes align to the 2020 Colorado Academic Standards for Reading, Writing, and Communicating, engaging students in the craft of narrative, poetry, and storytelling while building the CAS-defined skills of composing with clarity and purpose, developing voice and style, and using the writing process — research, drafting, revision, and reflection — to communicate ideas with increasing sophistication across literary forms.

His sessions blend theatre games, improvisation, voice and movement, and ensemble work, including Commedia dell'Arte, to build confidence, expressiveness, and a genuine love of performance. Older students progress toward script analysis and rehearsed performance. Darragh creates a warm, encouraging space where every student finds their stage."
